Children Questions

Your trust or will has a provision that includes any children born after the date you sign your trust or will. If you select to have your assets divided equally among your children, then children born after the date you sign your trust or will are also included.

If you have a child who has a disability that will likely impact their ability TO work AND provide FOR themselves, you may want TO CHECK this box. Checking this box will put the child’s share OF your assets INTO a “special needs trust” upon your death. A special needs trust will (1) give a trustee that you name the ability TO manage the money FOR your special needs child, AND (2) make it so that your special needs child’s inheritance will NOT impact ANY needs based public benefits they may be receiving such AS SSI OR Medicaid.
